Andrew Shroyer
Andrew Shroyer is a Jungian-oriented therapist who works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and existential or spiritual concerns. He sees therapy as more than symptom management—it is a space for meaning-making, inner exploration, and developing a deeper relationship with the psyche. He also works with men exploring masculinity, purpose, and identity, supporting the development of strength, clarity, emotional depth, and meaningful connection. He offers a reflective and compassionate space for those seeking not only healing, but a more authentic connection to themselves and their inner life.

Maybe you’ve been navigating transitions, exploring questions about your identity, or noticing patterns that keep repeating in your relationships or sense of self. You’re ready to reflect, grow, and take meaningful steps toward a life that feels authentic, connected, and empowering. Together, we can uncover your strengths, explore your experiences, and build a life that feels true to who you are. Whether you’re questioning parts of your identity, redefining your path, or processing challenging personal or cultural experiences, we will work to examine different parts of your story and how they show up in your relationships and daily life. I’ll create a space where you feel understood and supported as we explore challenges and their influence. Therapy can bring up a lot, whether it’s new or something you’ve done before. Many clients I work with are navigating a significant loss or transition, struggling in their relationships, experiencing family conflict, or feeling caught between who they are and who others expect them to be. Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, understand the patterns that shape us, and develop deeper relationships with ourselves and others. I provide a warm, thoughtful, and nonjudgmental space where difficult emotions and experiences can be safely processed and explored. Together, we can build new coping skills and cultivate greater awareness, self-compassion, and agency in your life. Grief and loss are a core focus of my practice, including grief related to immigration, estrangement from culture or family, boundary setting, and life transitions. My work with clients who have lost loved ones, are caregivers, or live with chronic or terminal illness has deepened my skills in supporting people through their own unique experience of grief. I offer virtual therapy to clients living in DC, NY, PA, and VA as well as in person therapy at my office in Washington DC. I am committed to providing compassionate, culturally responsive therapy to adults across the lifespan. I know that finding the right therapist and starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and I am here to guide you through the process whenever you are ready. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor with experience working with a diverse population in an outpatient setting. I believe that developing a deeper understanding of yourself is the key to facing your mental health struggles and creating a life which is meaningful to you. I endeavor to help you feel seen and understood and to create an environment which is judgment-free and supportive. As a counselor, my approach will vary depending on your individual goals and needs. I work mainly from an existential foundation and enjoy tackling the big questions such as Who am I? and What is my purpose? I also draw from other modalities such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I believe that you are the expert on your own life and will focus on what you want out of our sessions. Whether you are dealing with a condition such as depression, anxiety, or OCD or experiences such as stress, grief, or exploring your identity, I am here to accompany you on your journey and empower you to make the change you want to see. The office is located directly on the 61B bus line, making it a convenient trip for any students in Oakland.

For nearly 20 years, I have worked with adolescents and young adults who have anxiety, mood disorders, gender identity issues, family conflicts and trauma from many different backgrounds. There is no single case that is identical to another, and everyone has their own unique story. I want to hear your story so that I may join your journey to heal. My main approaches are CBT, Family Systems Theory, EMDR, and somatic approaches. I also incorporate Eastern philosophy and focus on the mind-body connection to assist clients in understanding their challenges and rediscovering their authentic selves. As a person who came to the United States as a teen, I personally understand the pressure to succeed, the challenges to navigate the US college system, and the loneliness that limited resources and guidance that first generation college students go through. I have also advocated for people of color and the LGTBQ+ population in an effort to improve equality and deal with human rights issues many years. I strive to provide a safe environment for all of my clients without judgment. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Lotus Counseling & Consulting LLC
At times, people just want to have a conversation and we put off going to counseling, because honestly we tell ourselves that this other thing is just a little bit more important, a bit more pressing. We forget to invest in ourselves. Life is tough, there is no doubt about that; but why go through it alone. Let me be that person for you to aid you through those tough times or I can simply be that someone that you talk with. For a free consultation, learn more about my practice, or set up a counseling appointment, please go to www.thelotuscounselor.com or call (610) 699-9475. I specialize in having conversations and I have experience with: grief, stress management, trauma, depression, anxiety, career counseling, adults and youth and more. College is a lot. If you are juggling classes, a social life, and a brain that will not cooperate, you do not need a six-month waitlist on top of it. Little Dove Psychology is a fully virtual practice for college students, based in Austin, Texas. Two things we do differently: if you have always wondered whether you have ADHD, we complete comprehensive virtual ADHD evaluations in under a month, with a written report you can use at school. And our individual therapy sessions fit an actual student schedule, with evening and weekend appointments, all from your dorm, apartment, or parked car between classes. We use approaches with real evidence behind them (CBT, ACT, DBT skills) for the things students actually deal with: anxiety, perfectionism, procrastination that is really something deeper, homesickness, relationships, and figuring out who you are. No judgment, no lectures, just practical help from someone who gets it. Your therapy does not have to end when the semester does. Through PSYPACT, we can see you across Texas and the other PSYPACT states, so if you head home for winter break, spend the summer out of state, or study away from campus, your sessions continue without starting over with someone new. Little Dove Psychology is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, and Optum (UnitedHealthcare); the plans each clinician accepts are listed below, and we provide superbills for other plans. Every student starts with a free 15-minute consultation, and most start the same week they reach out.

I am a licensed professional counselor who has a straightforward approach that is combined with empathy and understanding. I will take a person where they are, not where I want them to be or where others tell them they should be. I have worked for the past 10+ years with individuals who experience a combination of symptoms/stressors. I have worked with many different individuals with varying diagnoses, to include depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, trauma, and personality disorders. I use a combination of therapies to be most effective in approaching treatment with others. I do not take walk-in appointments, and I am best reached by email or texting. I do offer free 20-minute phone-consultations for any person looking to explore therapy and still has questions or concerns.
