Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
Misty Reid
Hi, I am Misty. I work with college students, children, teens and adults who feel worn down by anxiety, low mood, stress, or health changes and want to feel steady and present again. You might reach out for support with depression, anxiety, ADHD, burnout, or trouble sleeping, yet what you are really longing for is relief, clarity, and a sense that your mind and body are finally on the same team. Many of my clients are caregivers or helping professionals who show up for everyone else and are ready for a space that is just for them, where they can slow down, be heard, and begin to restore balance. In our work together, I offer warm, collaborative care that helps you feel seen while we untangle what is happening beneath the surface. I provide holistic medication management, CBT and DBT-style therapy, help with ADHD and burnout struggles, and support for major depressive disorder. If you feel tired of carrying so much on your own, you are not alone. You deserve a space where you can slow down, be heard, and feel supported. If this resonates, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you take the next step.

You’re carrying a lot right now. Maybe it feels like everything is too much, or maybe you just can’t quite name what feels off, only that something isn’t working the way it used to. You might be standing at a crossroads, unsure which way to go, or trying to move forward while feeling stuck in place. That uncertainty can be exhausting. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to show up with a plan, just a willingness to begin. Together, we’ll slow things down to explore what’s weighing on you, uncover what matters most, and find a way to move forward. I offer individual therapy for folks who are navigating difficult life transitions, exploring their identity, processing complex trauma, or just curious about how their lived experiences shape how they move through the world.
Satori Sky Counseling
Hi, I’m Michelle. I’m a mindfulness-based therapist who works with college students navigating anxiety, relationships, self-doubt, and the sometimes messy process of figuring yourself out. I offer a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed space where you can slow down, feel understood, and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we’ll work toward feeling more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come to therapy. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns you want to change, struggling in a relationship, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, we can start exactly where you are. My approach may incorporate mindfulness, somatic and nervous-system work, attachment-based therapy, and EMDR when appropriate.

Do you feel like you don't quite fit in to your life, feel anxious, or long to feel confident and capable? Perhaps you may identify as neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, gifted, a trauma survivor, sensitive, or in a life transition that has you feeling lost or stuck. I may be the right fit for you. I love helping young adults build confidence in their unique strengths, build on their capacities, and learn how to be supported in creating a thriving life on their own terms. I also acknowledge the real struggles with relationships- family, friends, work, or society at large that affect mental health. Let's collaborate. I offer trauma-informed and DBT-informed art therapy, talk therapy, EMDR, somatic, and mindfulness techniques that can improve your confidence. My approach is rooted in real world application, helping you feel empowered and confident in therapy- so you can create a life that best serves your unique way of being. I hope to work with you to find out how I can best show up as your advocate and ally in healing. I warmly welcome individuals coming from all backgrounds and intersections of identity to reach out and see if we might be a good fit to do this important work together. https://www.carlylovejoytherapy.com/

I’ve been part of the Harvard Medical School system for over a decade, first as a trainee, now as faculty member. I'm trained primarily in psychodynamic therapy, but principles/interventions from other paradigms also inform my work, and I love working with students. Ultimately, the nature of therapy depends on the patient, what they are up against, and their goals. For this reason, the course of therapy is difficult to describe, but surely only ever works in a context of empathy & respect, not to mention humor (sometimes life can only be laughed at). This is a perspective I lay out in some detail in a recently published, two-volume book, titled, "A Humane Vision of Clinical Psychology." I'm a good fit for someone looking to understand and change established patterns, and to find relief from associated symptoms. Currently, I am contracted with the student insurances at Tufts and Boston College, which make sessions very inexpensive for students. I am licensed in Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Vermont, and Connecticut. Very happy to arrange telehealth sessions for students in any of those states.

You deserve a safe space where you have a voice and finally feel heard. Whether you are managing a chronic illness, emotional eating or trying to find your identity, a ton of emotions can come up that deserve to be validated and supported. Surprised to hear that? Don't be! I've learned so much from my own experiences and would love to guide you on your own journey! I have a passion for helping others take back control of their lives. We do so much every day that taking care of ourselves feels impossible! With a combination of life experience and education, I help individuals that feel as though they are alone find their path to healing.

I believe that the integration of the body, mind and spirit is an essential expression of personal health. Many of today’s Mental, Physical and Social Illnesses stem from a lack of integration-disintegration, resulting in persons dissociated from themselves, the community and the environment. My focus is on the whole person, with special emphasis on how the mind is connected directly to the body and how a person thinks, feels and acts. Emphasis will be on wellness, with symptoms seen as calls to self-realization. MY SPECIALTIES: Individual counseling services for disorders such as: Anxiety Spectrum disorders like: Panic Attacks, PTSD, OCD, Social anxiety, Phobias, IBS, Stress management and Worry; Depressive disorders like: Mania, Bipolar disorder, Post-partum depression, and Depression; Sleep disorders like Insomnia and sleep/wake disorders Group practice: I have a team of counselors who work with me. J. Anderson Counseling
I was born and raised in Rockford, Ill. before moving to Columbia, Mo. to attend the University of Missouri. I graduated with a Bachelors of Journalism and moved to Rogers, Ark. where I worked as an editor and designer for Celebrate Arkansas Magazine. I fell in love with Northwest Arkansas and stayed in the area to attend graduate school at the University of Arkansas. I earned a Masters of Science in Counseling in 2015 and opened a small practice in 2016. I relocated to Denver, Colorado in 2020. I decided to become a counselor because -- most simply put -- I believe in counseling. Throughout my own counseling work I have come to see the value in sitting across from another person and allowing them to see all of me—my fears, my doubts, my shame, my joy, my hurt. I find author and researcher Brene´ Brown sums it up best: “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

Our therapists are person-centered, action-oriented, and grounded in authentic connection. We believe growth happens when our clients feel both deeply supported and gently challenged. We focus on creating space to process experiences while simultaneously helping our clients build new perspectives and take practical steps toward lasting change. We specialize in supporting individuals who appear capable or strong on the outside but are quietly carrying the weight of competing demands, high expectations, self-doubt, stress, burnout, or the persistent feeling that they should be doing more. Our team is well experienced working with anxiety, life transitions, stress, disordered eating and body image concerns, relational concerns, depression, and athletes looking for sports psychology services. Our therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and authentic. We integrate evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and relational and attachment-based therapies. We intuitively blend these approaches help our clients shift self-limiting beliefs, strengthen resilience and self-compassion, and create meaningful change beyond the therapy room.
