I'm a trauma therapist offering online therapy to college students throughout Pennsylvania. My specialty is IFS-informed EMDR: EMDR helps your brain reprocess painful memories so they lose their grip on the present, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) brings compassion to the parts of you that learned to protect you in hard times. Together, they let us work through trauma at a pace that feels safe — without having to retell your story over and over. Many of the students I work with are carrying more than a heavy course load: childhood wounds, anxiety that won't switch off, depression, ADHD, or the pressure of holding it all together far from home. Therapy with me is a place where all of that can be looked at without judgment. I believe we can let go of our past and accept ourselves as we are — and that self-acceptance is the first step toward change. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified in EMDR (EMDRIA) and trained in IFS (IFS Institute) and DBT, with a master's in Counseling Psychology from Temple University and eight years of practice. Sessions are $185 with sliding-scale spots available, and I provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. I offer a free 20-minute consultation — reach out and let's see if we're a good fit.

Choosing therapy is a bold step towards positive change. My goal as a therapist is to support you as you move towards personal and relational healing while providing unconditional positive regard, structure for exploration, and nervous system support for staying present with the difficult emotions and re-grounding afterwards. I believe that you make sense and that you are an expert on your own experience. My practice is person-centered and celebrates queer and trans lives, poly and kink relationships, neurodivergent experience, and health at all sizes. I strive to practice cultural humility about experiences, histories, and cultural oppressions that fall outside my own. I use tools from trauma-informed modalities of IFS, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing. I am open to working with adults, adolescents, and children of families that are willing to commit to family sessions. I enjoy working with people who experience multiple marginalizations and cultural oppressions, artists, writers and activists. Reach out with your questions, current struggles, ideals, and goals to explore if we are the right fit.
Whole Family Therapy
I’m Heather Wyatte. I help individuals, couples, and families learn to manage conflict and life’s stressors by better understanding each others’ needs. Life can feel hard if you are experiencing personal challenges, addictions, complicated issues, or adjusting to new life stages or changes. Managing relationships and effectively communicating with partners or family members can feel even harder during those times. But don’t fret, it can be easier to talk about the hard things when there is a mediator present and you are given tools to help. That is what Whole Family Therapy specializes in.

As a board certified psychiatrist, I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and offer a blend of psychotherapy with the option of medication management when needed. My therapy approach is grounded in psychodynamic, existential, and mindfulness theories. During therapy, we empathically explore and observe meaningful themes, memories, and pivotal points in your life that shape(d) who you are today. My prescribing philosophy is minimalist, evidence based, and personalized. I believe in using medications thoughtfully, when it aligns with your values, and supports your healing. I also welcome medication skeptics and offer alternative approaches to treatment. I see patients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida. Do you feel like you’re failing at a "script" you never signed up for? When you find yourself in the space between rejecting old scripts but not yet knowing what your new scripts will be, the weight of the unknown can be paralyzing. Most challenges are fueled by a fear of being 'wrong.' I help you move past those 'right' and 'wrong' binaries and develop a deep relationship with your own intuition. When you are no longer fighting yourself, you have the energy to truly connect with others. I specialize in the topics that many therapists shy away from. I help individuals and couples reclaim intimacy by addressing desire differences, sexual "addictions", or performance anxiety. Whether we are navigating transitions into non-monogamy, or healing from infidelity, we’ll work on the practical skills to help you say 'yes' and 'no' with confidence. I bring my lived experience as a Queer, Trans, Latine therapist to help you navigate the complex intersections of power and identity. My style is direct yet deeply kind; I provide the 'gentle accountability' needed to break old patterns. I’m not here to tell you how to live; I’m here to help you communicate your needs and find what actually works for you. Some areas I explore with clients include: - Men & Masculinity - Infidelity - Boundaries & Communication - Out of Control Sexual Behavior or "Sex Addiction" - Gender & Sexual Identity Development - Asexuality - Polyamory & Non-Monogamy - Divorce & Uncoupling - Multicultural Relationships - Parasocial Relationships - ADHD & Neurodivergence - Spirituality - Grief, Loss, & Transitions
