Fine Tune Psychiatry
“Helping people is a privilege.” For more than twenty-five years, I’ve supported children, adolescents, adults, and families through moments of change, stress, and growth. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in listening deeply. I meet clients exactly where they are, move at their pace, and help them make sense of what they’re feeling so they can move toward meaningful change. I work with clients who want to understand patterns that are no longer serving them — whether that’s anxiety, being overwhelmed, people pleasing, perfectionism, relationship stress, or major life transitions. Together we explore what’s underneath these experiences, build insight, and develop practical tools for emotional regulation and resilience. My style integrates solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness strategies & strengths-based work. Clients often tell me they feel heard, supported, & empowered to make choices that align with who they want to be. Therapy with me is a collaborative process where your voice matters, your goals guide our work, and growth becomes possible.
Kathleen (Kate) Walsh
I am a therapist who approaches each person from a holistic perspective. You are unique, and therefore my approach to working with you is, as well. I use a combination of behavior based therapies to work with people struggling with Trichotillomania and Excoriation disorders. Mindfulness techniques are a useful part of the therapy process, and are included in all the tools you can use to reach your goals. Cognitive behavior therapy, as well as Exposure and Response Prevention are some of the techniques that lead to the most positive outcomes, in the ares I practice. I am trained in EMDR, which is a therapy I use in treating people trying to recover from PTSD, and other Traumas.

EMAIL ONLY, PLEASE. When we meet, it is in the forefront of my mind that making initial contact and coming to an appointment with a therapist can be daunting. In our work together, you are the experts on your experience. I use genuine curiosity and empathy to gain a true understanding of what is going on. Together, we can discuss how my experience and training can assist you. Therapy is not "one size fits all," and I encourage clients to be open in sessions about what is working (and perhaps more importantly, what is not!). I have experience working with clients of all ages with anxiety (including specific phobias) and mood disorders, and with children with behavioral problems. I most often draw from cognitive-behavioral (including Trauma-Focused CBT) and humanistic approaches. I also offer comprehensive assessments for ADHD, learning disorders, and psychological concerns. I have worked in mental health centers, schools, residential programs, juvenile detention centers, and college counseling centers, and am currently in independent private practice. I am also able to provide in-home therapy as needed. I am also licensed under PSYPACT, and able to provide services virtually in states detailed here: https://psypact.site-ym.com/

Starting or returning to college can bring up unique challenges—navigating relationships, managing stress, adjusting to new independence, or figuring out who you are and what you want. I work best with students who are thoughtful, curious, and open to exploring their inner world, even if that feels a little intimidating at first. Many of my clients are balancing academics with the ups and downs of friendships, family, dating, and questions about their identity. My practice is LGBTQ-affirming and welcoming to students of all backgrounds. I provide a calm and supportive space where you can slow down, untangle what feels overwhelming, and begin to feel more grounded. Whether you’re seeking clarity in relationships, support with stress or anxiety, or a place to process deeper emotions, therapy can be a meaningful step toward feeling more connected and at ease with yourself.
