Therapy can be a place to slow down and make sense of what’s been shaping you - especially when familiar ways of coping no longer feel helpful. People often come to therapy during periods of change, relational stress, or when old patterns start to feel heavy or confusing. You don’t need to have clear answers to begin; therapy offers space to reflect, understand yourself more deeply, and decide how you want to move forward. My approach is grounded in understanding how family dynamics, culture, identity, and broader social systems shape how we see ourselves and relate to others. As a queer Palestinian- American woman, I bring lived experience and clinical training into my work and strive to offer care that is thoughtful, affirming, and nonjudgmental. In therapy, we will move at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we may look back at the experiences and relationships that have shaped you, while also building clarity, self-trust, and support in the present. Sessions can be challenging at times, and I offer a steady, compassionate presence as you work toward lasting change. I invite you to reach out.

When we are facing life stressors, we often focus on addressing the immediate symptoms. This can be very adaptive. However, if we only ever focus on the immediate symptoms of our struggles, then we may never recognize or have the possibility of healing the cause of our pain. I believe that therapy provides a powerful space to explore, understand, and ultimately heal the root causes of our struggles. I approach my work with insight from a variety of therapeutic frameworks, including Narrative Therapy, IFS, Solution Focused Therapy, & Attachment Theory. I am also formally trained in EMDR which I can incorporate into therapy. I approach therapy with an anti-oppressive lens to assist clients dealing with the impacts of homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, and misogyny and am versed in supporting individuals with a wide range of challenges, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, Bipolar, and chronic pain. I come to my work not merely as an outsider with expertise, but as a neurodivergent and transgender individual myself who has lived experience navigating many of the issues I work to help others heal from. It has been my privilege to help a wide variety of clients, and I look forward to learning how I can help you too!

Therapy is an opportunity to alleviate emotional pain and also a safe space to reflect and grow. When seeking therapy, many people might be unsure of what they want and afraid of the uncertainty. My hope is to help you walk through a healthy perspective to replenish a meaningful and rewarding life where you could see yourself more completely and inspire yourself to be the calm within the storm. With a compassionate, non-judgmental, and psychologically mindful space, I hope you will feel deeply understood and optimistic. I work from a genuine, authentic and collaboratively open style. My work is tailored to each client’s needs and presenting problems. During our sessions, we may focus on discovering new coping strategies to manage problems, widening your perspective, providing tools to overcome stressors, facilitate insight as well as promoting self-care and resiliency. Having an international background, I value diversity and I am deeply attuned to your unique social and cultural identity and its effect on your individuality, sense of purpose and meaning in life. As a person who lives on Earth, I can relate to what it is like to be alive. Living requires consistent effort and upkeep. Sometimes, talking to a mental health professional can bolster one’s capacity to cope with the challenges that come with living.

Therapy is a space where healing, growth, and clarity can begin and I’m here to walk alongside you in that process. Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, anxiety, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to find a path forward that feels authentic and sustainable. I’m a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, working with adults and teens. I earned my master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and have extensive experience using a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs. My approach is warm, collaborative, and supportive. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and empowered. In our sessions, we’ll explore patterns, address unhelpful cycles, and build new, healthier ways of moving through the world. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy drinking coffee, crocheting, hiking, and spending time outdoors. I also have a deep love for plants and find peace in caring for them.

The Therapy Gal
The Therapy Gal was created to destigmatize and normalize mental health and therapy. We have a lighthearted approach to describing therapy, and a more thoughtful style in how we approach each individual client. As systemically trained therapists – meaning we take your system into consideration (i.e. your caregivers, siblings, school, friends, etc.) – we can better assess what makes you you, and what has affected you thus far. Our goal is to support you through becoming the best version of yourself, and to help you become well-equipped with various coping strategies that will get you through these tough transitional periods.
