R&D Center: Addiction Recovery & Life Development
R&D is a welcoming outpatient program designed to help young adults build healthy, balanced lives in recovery. Our small, supportive setting feels like a community where students can find connection, structure, and encouragement. We offer group therapy, individual sessions, and fun community activities like hikes, sports outings, and creative workshops. With a licensed family therapist on staff, we also support loved ones who want to be part of the healing process. Whether you’re returning to school or finding your next step, R&D provides a safe space to grow, recover, and move forward with confidence.

The Understory Group
The Understory Group was founded around one guiding principle: We are at our best when we grow together. As therapists, we're not interested in seeing our clients as a list of symptoms, problem behaviors, or diagnoses--we're interested in working with individuals, families, and resilient survivors who have trusted us with their stories. We approach our work through an anti-oppressive lens with a particular focus on providing quality care to the LGBTQ+ community. A vibrant and thriving ecosystem can only exist when it creates space for diversity, adaptation, and community. Let's create a beautiful understory.

I work with adolescents and adults who struggle with issues related to ADHD, learning problems, anxiety, stress management, and general wellness/lifestyle. Using a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and relational techniques and theories I am able to tailor treatment to your specific needs. My emphasis is on connection, collaboration, and self-care throughout the treatment process. I completed additional training as a yoga teacher, personal trainer, and school psychologist which means I have specialized knowledge of food, exercise, and lifestyle interventions to improve mental health. For over 25 years I have worked as a social worker, life coach and therapist with children, adolescents and adults. Since I was a child I knew that I wanted to be a counselor helping others in their time of need. At some point in life's journey you may experience a time where you feel you may benefit from some extra support and guidance, let me help you on the road to hope and healing. I believe in a mutual therapeutic relationship working together as a team towards the client's goals. Starting therapy and sharing issues that have become challenging is a hard and yet courageous step in your healing process. As a therapist I am honored to be able to share in this journey and hold the emotions that come with this. I consider myself to be an eclectic therapist, taking into consideration the individuals uniqueness and needs before implementing techniques and strategies. I use an honest and direct approach in a non-judgemental and compassionate way. With the help of different modalities CBT, Mindfulness, Solution Focused and EMDR I can help you find a path toward inner peace and joy.

I received my M.S. In Counseling from Villanova University and pursued doctoral studies at Immaculata University. In 1994 I became a licensed psychologist and opened my own private practice in Wayne, PA. I have been an adjunct professor at Chestnut Hill College in their graduate psychology department. I completed advanced studies in Jungian psychology at the C. G. Jung Institute in Philadelphia. In 1997 I became a certified Imago Relationship therapist where my goal was to assist couples in having more conscious, loving and intimate relationships. Central to my work is a powerful self-discovery tool … the Enneagram in which I received training in 2001. I use it extensively with clients as well as outside groups where I give presentations and teach classes on the Enneagram including volunteer teaching of the Enneagram at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. In 2014 I received my certification in coaching through the Coaches Training Institute. I since have developed a coaching practice to complement the work I do in the therapeutic and counseling areas. In addition, I also give presentations and talks for married couples, parent associations, support groups, and health and wellness audiences.

College can be a time of both high demand and high reward. It's a time where we find independence, our passions, new friendships, and more... all while being challenged in a way we haven't been before. This is a transition that warrants a support system to help us through. Whether it be daily life stress, deeper traumas you have endured, or anything in between, my role in this support system is to be here as a resource for you in your therapeutic journey. I look forward to working together to shed light on your strengths, increase self-understanding, and empower you through any hardships. Let's connect!

Do you feel held back by fear and anxiety? Do the "what ifs" or the memories of how things went wrong haunt you to the point of inaction? If so, I can help; I work with young adults to help them overcome their anxiety and past trauma to get unstuck and live their lives to the fullest. I try to balance meeting you where you are, and teaching you skills that will change behavior patterns that are no longer working for you. Therapy should be more than just "venting;" I believe it should be an active process of learning and change. If you want a therapy experience that is structured and goal-oriented, we may be a good fit. I enjoy and welcome working with students of all backgrounds, including the LGTBQIAA community. I would be happy to speak with you to see if we can become partners in your recovery journey!

Welcome to Empirical Embrace Counseling! I became a therapist because I understand what it feels like to be in the throes of mental illness while also navigating the ups and downs of life - and how isolating that can be. I want all of my clients to feel safe when they are in the therapy room with me. I want them to know that they have me in their corner to support, guide, and advocate for them. My clients inspire me every. single. day. and I am truly passionate about my work. I am extensively trained in a variety of evidence-based treatments for OCD, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma. Some of these treatment modalities include Exposure/Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Enhanced for ED's, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, and general Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety and depression. The most important thing to me in the therapy room is my relationship with my client. I approach this with compassion and empathy and most importantly, meeting my clients where they are. Holding the space for my clients to experience life's ups and downs is one of my greatest strengths.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who likes to provide a positive and non-judgmental space for clients to express themselves and recognize their own power for change. Through my time in the mental health field, I have learned the importance of meeting a client where they’re at in their treatment process and supporting them in their personal goals. I like providing a relaxed therapeutic environment through therapeutic activities and sometimes even light humor. I typically use a combination of family systems theories and motivational interviewing. Through the use of a systemic approach, it allows me to connect with my clients and understand their family system and communication patterns. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to support clients in addressing trauma. Outside my role as a therapist I enjoy spending time with my husband, new daughter and rescue dog, especially taking walks and exploring new places. I also love traveling, challenging myself with Peloton classes and playing volleyball. When it is time to relax, I like watching Netflix, Disney+ and reality shows.
