Therapists for college students near 97201
Cynthia Jordan, LMFT
Therapy is a courageous act that requires vulnerability, authenticity, and an openness to self-discovery. I have worked with students for over 20 years. I understand the compounding social, academic, financial, and relationship challenges students face. I have supported students experiencing generalized and academic anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), ADHD, depression, chronic and acute medical conditions, life adjustments, roommate conflict, stress and time management difficulties, grief and loss, and trauma. I have experience working with students who have experienced sudden grief and loss, traumatic break-ups, and psychological, physical, and sexual abuse. I am committed to supporting individuals heal from their traumatic experiences and allowing their vulnerable selves to feel seen. I have experience working with BIPOC and LGBTQIA2+ students who are experiencing discrimination, marginalization, dismissal, and systemic aggressions. I will work to help you identify patterns that are keeping you stuck, stagnant, and from reaching your full potential. If you are ready to begin this process I look forward to connecting with you. I have completed trainings and hold certifications in EMDR, ACT, DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, and trauma-informed practices.
Adonai Health and Wellness LLC
Welcome! I’m Rose Adonis, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I understand that college can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. You may be trying to manage academic pressure, relationships, work, family expectations, and major life changes while quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, difficulty focusing, low motivation, or emotional exhaustion. I work best with students who want a supportive and nonjudgmental space where they can be honest about what they are experiencing. You do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Together, we will discuss your concerns, identify your goals, and create a treatment plan that fits your individual needs. When appropriate, care may include medication management, practical coping strategies, and collaboration with a therapist or other healthcare professionals. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and more confident in managing your mental health so you can thrive both academically and personally. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey.
BCBTherapy
BCB Therapy began in 2004. Each therapist carries a caseload they can actually hold in mind, and clients see the same person every week, not whoever happens to be free. The team works with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship struggles, disordered eating, insomnia, and ADHD. Alongside talk therapy the practice offers EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, DBT, DBR, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Sessions happen two ways: in person at the office on SW Columbia Street in Bend, or by secure video anywhere in Oregon. Clients in Portland, Salem, Eugene, and Medford, and in small towns with no therapist for fifty miles, get the same clinicians and the same care. The practice is in network with PacificSource, Providence, Regence, BlueCross BlueShield, First Choice Health, and the Oregon Health Plan.

How I work: I'm a licensed clinical social worker and psychoanalytic psychotherapist, in practice for over 15 years. Licensed in Oregon, Maryland and New York. In person in Ashland, Oregon, and by video elsewhere. People come to me with anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, relationship difficulty, and the harder transitions of a life, though we rarely stay at the level of the label for long. My training is psychoanalytic - relational, modern, contemporary - but in practice I'm more interested in you than in applying any of it to you. Together we explore what matters, what repeats, what gets avoided, what happens between us. You come to know what's best. That stays with you everywhere. I also work as a thought partner. Some people come to me not for conventional therapy but for sustained, confidential attention to something they're working through: a decision, a project, a difficult question, a piece of writing, a leadership puzzle. The structure is different; the kind of attention to complexity is the same. Some call this coaching. I think of it as the same depth of attention, pointed at something distinct you're working at. Who I am Trained at the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies and the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis, with additional study in somatic and contemplative approaches. Outside the office, I serve on the board of the Ashland Independent Film Festival.

Grace Wallingford
Hey there! I’m Grace, a Registered Dietitian based in Portland, OR, passionate about helping you feel your best through personalized, sustainable nutrition. My journey into nutrition began with my own experience. During my senior year of high school, I was diagnosed with celiac disease, and after working with a dietitian and making changes to my diet, I experienced a powerful shift in my energy, mood, and overall well-being. That experience showed me firsthand just how impactful nutrition can be—and ultimately inspired me to pursue this field. Through both my personal and professional journey, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how chronic health conditions can affect nutritional status and day-to-day life. I’m especially passionate about supporting individuals navigating chronic conditions, helping them build confidence and find strategies that feel manageable, realistic, and sustainable long term. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and empowering. Together, we’ll create a space where you can learn, grow, and build the skills needed to make lasting changes. I believe nutrition therapy should feel approachable and individualized, and I’m here to help you develop tools that support your health in a way that fits your life. When I’m not working with clients, you can find me hiking, baking (I’m currently working on perfecting my banana bread recipe), spending time at my local coffee shop, or soaking up the sun whenever I can. I’m so excited to work with you and support you on your journey! Ready to start? Book a visit directly at https://diabetesdigital.co/start.

College can be a time of figuring out who you are while also juggling school, relationships, friendships, family, work, and what comes next. I work with college students who are feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, stuck, or unsure of where they fit in. I’m especially interested in supporting students navigating identity, sexuality, relationships, reproductive health and decision-making, and other big life transitions. I also enjoy working with student athletes and former athletes as they navigate performance pressure, injury, changing relationships with movement, or life beyond sport. My approach is collaborative and focused on helping you better understand yourself and feel more grounded in your life.
Daniel Combs
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with adults who are experiencing a wide variety of mental health issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety disorders, behavioral problems, relationship conflict, and trauma recovery. In addition to individual work, I also provide family therapy and parenting consultation, when indicated, to support parents and promote healthy communication and interactions. I strive to help each person feel safe enough to be open and honest about the state of their life. I believe that we all deserve someone that will listen without judgement and support us through life’s difficult moments. Through therapy, you can begin to make sense of your emotions, decrease your distress, and experience more fulfilling relationships. I utilize an integrative approach to psychotherapy, drawing from both cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic forms of treatment. I seek to help you better understand the root cause of your pain as well as discover practical strategies that will help to shift patterns of thinking and behavior that lie behind your difficulties. I view therapy as collaborative in nature and my hope is that we can partner together to help you make positive changes in your life.

Do you ever feel like you’re trying to meet everyone else's expectations while quietly struggling yourself? I work with teens, adults, and couples in unpacking childhood trauma, navigating infidelity, tackling life transitions, and motivation struggles. Whether you’re an overwhelmed overachiever, or feeling stuck in a “failure-to-launch” phase, I help clients gain clarity, strengthen relationships, and move forward with greater confidence. If you're looking for a therapist who will support and challenge you through grace, humor, an honesty, I look forward to working with you! :) My approach is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, we’ll explore how past and present relationships shape your patterns, emotions, and sense of self—so you can better understand yourself, reduce shame, build confidence, break unhelpful cycles, and create lasting change. Life is full of taboos. The self-doubts, the drama, the ‘I-probably-shouldn’t-say-this’ thoughts. In my office, nothing is too weird or too heavy, and we’ll sort through it together. My hope is that you leave each session feeling a little more seen, a little less alone, and more connected to the parts of yourself you’ve been carrying quietly for too long.

I use relationship building as the foundation of my therapy practice. I believe feeling seen, held, and safe are vital components of being able to grow. My hope is to create an atmosphere where the people I meet with feel met and known which will allow us to walk together through vulnerability. With all my clients I take a Neurobiological approach, which is a fancy way to say I think a lot about nervous systems and how to regulate them. Our nervous systems need co-regulation before they can learn to self-regulate. Together we will explore what feels soothing to your particular system and build strategies from there. I pull Internal Family Systems (IFS) or parts work and Narrative Therapy techniques. My style is client centered, collaborative, affirming, and trauma informed.

I have always had a passion for giving back to my community and supporting the creation of positive change in ways that are meaningful and respectful to the unique beliefs, needs, and cultures of others. As a therapist I strive to fulfill this passion by helping folks feel empowered to heal, grow, and live authentically. My work is grounded in the belief of the inherent strength of each person, and I am dedicated to helping clients build resilience, self-compassion, and agency in their lives. The approach we decide is best for you will be tailored to your unique needs. Whether you're navigating major life transitions, processing trauma, or exploring gender and sexual identity, I am here to provide a safe, empathetic, and judgment-free space—with just a touch of humor. Together, we’ll identify meaningful strategies to help you build the skills and confidence to move forward in ways that align with your values and goals. Originally from the Midwest, I earned my Bachelor’s in Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University (2017) before moving to Portland. In 2022, I completed my Masters of Social Work from the University of Denver, with an emphasis on trauma and social justice, and have since had the privilege of providing therapy at a local community mental health agency, serving a wide range of folks struggling with complex generational trauma, major life transitions, relationship issues, grief, and gender/sexual identity exploration. Through this experience, I had the privilege of further developing skills specific to LGBTQIA+ folks, a group of individuals near to my heart, which has allowed me to more meaningfully connect with, and help, my community. When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me running around the city or Forest Park training for the next half-marathon, at the coast or a hiking with my two wiener dogs, and most importantly spending time with my friends and loved ones. How I Can Help If you're looking for LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy in Portland or support for anxiety, trauma, relationships, or life transitions, I’m here to help. My goal is to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care that empowers you to create meaningful change. Whether you're seeking CBT for anxiety, trauma therapy, or support navigating gender identity, I offer a collaborative, affirming, and client-centered approach to help you move forward. I offer both in-person and telehealth therapy, making it easier to access care in a way that fits your needs. Aud Perkins, Professional Counselor Associate, NCC
Hi, I'm Aud, a Professional Counselor Associate with over five years of experience providing counseling services to students in educational settings. I provide telehealth therapy to college students experiencing anxiety, trauma & burnout I work with individuals who appear to have it all together on the outside—but underneath, they're spread thin, drained, and disconnected from themselves. Maybe you're the reliable one showing up for others, while dreading letting anyone down. You're always doing, always on, and guilt gnaws when you try to stop. Relaxing feels impossible, so you never feel fully rested. In all of this, you may find yourself asking, 'does life have to be this hard?' If any of this resonates, you deserve a space to breathe and truly be heard. I aim to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and find more balance in your life. My approach, grounded in person-centered theory, is warm and collaborative, while holding you accountable to the reasons you're seeking therapy. I begin by taking the time to truly understand how you experience the world—what feels heavy, what energizes you, and what patterns keep you weighed down. By listening deeply and reflecting your perspective, our work builds clarity and connection. As this unfolds, you'll gain confidence, learn to identify and advocate for your needs, and gradually find more balance and ease in your life. I especially enjoy working with clients who are high-achieving and/or adult children of immigrants hoping to explore their intersecting identities and heal generational trauma. Starting therapy may feel uncomfortable if you're not used to prioritizing yourself, and I'm here to remind you that you deserve the same care and support you offer to others. Therapy with me is a space where you don't have to perform—you get to just be.

Adam Rodriguez
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with 15 years of experience treating adolescents and adults. My approach to psychotherapy is warm, empathic, and compassionate. I treat each individual professionally and with respect. I appreciate the uniqueness of each patient and emphasize listening closely and thoughtfully, as we all possess the ability to tell our story regarding our strengths and our challenges, even when we sometimes do not realize it. I strive to create a safe environment where you can feel open to express and explore your feelings and experiences, without judgment or emphasis on what is “right” or “wrong.” I believe that therapy is an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and to express our feelings freely, in an effort to learn new methods of dealing with problems, being in relationships, and pursuing our dreams. My private practice is largely informed by modern psychoanalytic theory. I provide individual, couple, family, and group psychotherapy. I integrate themes of social justice throughout my practice, and am particularly thoughtful about the role that various cultural identifications, and their intersection, play in mental health and treatment. I also provide education, consultation, and training to professionals and students. A central aspect of my clinical thinking focuses on the role of power, privilege, and cultural dominance. Knowledge, concepts, and meaning are not developed on a solely individual basis, but rather are created through coordination and communication with others. Language is fundamentally important – it is the most essential way in which we construct reality. Our psychological experiences, including emotions, thoughts, somatic/bodily sensations, are subsequently developed within this context. I view problems in living, therefore, as relational, contextual, interpretive, and situated within the dominant discourse, expression, response, and cultural norms.
