I’m a counselor with a deep commitment to helping people navigate the complex, often painful moments that life can bring. Life doesn’t always unfold the way we imagined. Struggles like anxiety, addiction, or simply feeling stuck can leave us overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. If you’re experiencing that, you’re not alone. I’m here to help you uncover what might be holding you back—whether it’s unresolved trauma, the stress of change, or a buildup of emotional weight that’s become too heavy to carry on your own. My therapeutic approach draws from depth psychology, with a strong emphasis on emotional processing and attachment. Together, we’ll work toward building a more compassionate relationship with yourself—one that creates room for healing, growth, and renewed possibility. I hold two Master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology—one from the University of Kansas and another from Pacifica Graduate Institute—and my approach is grounded in both academic training and a genuine passion for this work. I believe that meaningful therapy starts with feeling safe, seen, and supported. The process of change can be challenging, but it doesn’t have to be something you face alone. I’m here to walk alongside you as we gently explore the patterns and experiences that have shaped your life—and to help you move toward the life you want to create. If you’re curious about working together, I offer a free 15-minute consultation by phone. It’s a chance for us to connect and see if we’re a good fit.

College can be exciting, meaningful, and full of possibility. It can also be really hard. Maybe you’re trying to keep up with classes while working, navigating friendships or relationships, thinking about your future, and wondering how everyone else seems to be handling it all. You may look capable from the outside while privately feeling anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure of yourself. I work with college students and young adults who tend to put a lot of pressure on themselves. You might overthink your decisions, worry about disappointing people, compare yourself to everyone around you, or have a hard time knowing what you actually want when there are so many expectations about what you should be doing. Therapy can be one place where you don’t have to have everything figured out. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s making things hard right now while also paying attention to the patterns underneath it. We might notice how quickly you become hard on yourself, what happens when someone is disappointed in you, why it’s difficult to slow down, or how easy it is to lose sight of your own needs when you’re focused on everyone else. My approach is somatic, relational, and depth-oriented. That means we’ll talk about what’s happening in your life while also paying attention to your emotions, your body, your relationships, and the experiences that have shaped how you see yourself and move through the world. I draw from Somatic Experiencing®, NARM, and psychodynamic therapy, and we’ll move at a pace that gives you room to understand yourself without feeling like you have to get therapy “right,” too. The goal isn’t to give you all the right answers. It’s to help you better understand the patterns you’ve developed, reconnect with what matters to you, and build more trust in yourself as you make decisions about your relationships, your future, and the person you’re becoming. If you’re looking for a space where you can bring the anxiety, uncertainty, relationships, pressure, and everything else you’re trying to figure out, I’d love to connect. I offer free 15-minute consultations to talk through what you're needing support with and for us to see if we might be a good fit to work together.

I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to seek out a therapist. As social beings, we all need support and at certain times we need it more than ever. Speaking to someone you can open up to and trust, knowing you will not be judged, can really make a difference in navigating emotional turmoil, relationships, stress, anxiety, processing trauma, and making our way through major life transitions. At times we may struggle with larger life questions such as, "Who am I?" and "What is my purpose in life?" I am here to help. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I support clients in healing and overcoming obstacles that prevent them from living freely, authentically, and with deep fulfillment. I have helped people struggling with depression, life-transitions, anxiety, childhood trauma, ADHD, self-esteem, and spiritual/existential concerns. My holistic approach incorporates depth-work, spirituality, and learning new strategies to effectively navigate life. I am certified in Existential-Humanistic Psychotherapy, which facilitates genuine and life lasting changes through a powerful process of self-discovery rooted in compassion and presence. I am a certified Enneagram Facilitator and Yoga Teacher.

Amanda Johnson LCSW, SEP
Hi, I’m Amanda. I work with individuals and couples who want to get to the root of their patterns—whether it’s relational conflict, trauma symptoms, anxiety, or a sense that something deeper is in the way of fully living. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but exhausted internally. Others feel flooded, shut down, or stuck in dynamics they can’t quite name. I help you slow down and listen to the wisdom of your nervous system, so we can understand how past experiences may still be living in your body—and gently unwind them. My approach integrates EMDR, somatic therapy, parts work (IFS-informed), and body-based listening tools like the Safe and Sound or Rest and Restore Protocol. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy for those seeking an altered state of consciousness to process trauma or reconnect with meaning. When working with couples, I draw from Relational Life Therapy to help partners move beyond blame and disconnection and into clarity, ownership, and renewed connection. I also offer Discernment Counseling which is a short term focused therapy for couples unsure whether to stay or separate—with compassion for both perspectives. Outside the therapy room, I spend as much time as I can outdoors—going on “bug hunts” with my son, hiking local trails with my husband, or exploring a new interest in horseback riding. I also love yoga, travel, and quiet mornings with coffee and books. If you’re ready to get curious about what your symptoms are trying to say—and want to feel more connected to yourself and your relationships—I’d be honored to support your journey.
